Now I wanna look up the mottos of all the states I’ve lived in…
Minnesota: L’Étoile du Nord, which means “Star of the North” in French.
Texas: Friendship.
Wisconsin: Forward.
Kentucky: United we stand, divided we fall.
North Carolina: Esse quam videri, which means “To be rather than to seem (to be)” in Latin.Okay seriously, what’s up with Wisconsin and Texas??
Washington’s is “Al-Ki”… apparently it’s Chinook for bye and bye or Hope for the future.
